The Livingston County Sheriff has released more information about a fatal hunting accident that happened in the Town of Caledonia on Sunday.
Sheriff Thomas Dougherty says that the name of the 45 year old woman who died after being shot in the stomach is not being released yet at the request of the family.
He says the man who shot her is identified as 50 year old John Lander. He was among a group of several hunters when the incident happened in a field off River Road.
Livingston County authorities and the NYS Department of Environmental Conservation continues to investigate.
At this point, there’s no word of any charges.
