More Than 10,000 Run & Walk The J.P. Morgan Corporate Challenge

TWC News

More than 10,000 runners and walkers from 421 companies took part in the 25th annual J.P. Morgan Corporate challenge on Tuesday evening at RIT.

The 3.5 mile road race saw David Bronfenbrenner with in the men’s division with a time of 18:23 and Morgan Burrows in the women’s division, finishing at 19:59. It was the third consecutive victory at the race for Burrows and her 4th overall at that event.

Both Bronfenbrenner and Burrows work for Corning.

The companies who had the largest groups of people participating included Wegmans, with 543 total entries, followed by the U of R, Paychex, Tops and the Rochester Regional Health System.

The event is billed as more of a team-building and networking event than a competitive road race. Organizers say a lot of the same companies field teams year after year.

A downpour dampened the course just before the race began, which was otherwise run in some sticky conditions.

Rochester was the fourth event in this year’s J.P.Morgan Corporate Challenge Series, which will make stops in 13 cities in seven countries.
