Monroe County officials say they're taking steps to make Halloween safer for kids.
The county's Probation Department is ordering 25 of the highest-risk sex offenders to report to an undisclosed location on Halloween night.
161 other sex offenders have been ordered to not decorate their homes for Halloween and to turn off their exterior lights and not answer the door for trick-or-treaters.
The county also announced that a STOP-DWI crack down will start Friday and run through Sunday. Sheriff's deputies will join forces with State Police and other local agencies to try to reduce the number of deaths and injuries from drunken driving.
