Monroe Ambulance Warns Of Scammers Using Their Name

Monroe Ambulance is warning area residents about someone making fraudulent phone calls using the company’s name.

They say the calls involve someone claiming to be a representative of Monroe reporting that the person’s loved one has been in an accident and requesting personal information to help identify the patient.

According to the ambulance company, the telephone numbers being used by these callers have been linked back to unknown entities or to previous phone scam attempts.

Monroe Ambulance emphasizes that it does not place outgoing calls to obtain information in this way. They say anyone receiving these calls should write down the number and the name of the caller and then contact law enforcement.

Anyone with any question about the validity of the call can also call Monroe Ambulance at its 24-hour communications center at 585-232-9000
