The Goodyear Blimp hovered over Rochester skies on Sunday, as part of an effort to bring attention to the rebranding and re-imaging of Monro Muffler Brake & Service and Mr. Tire stores nationwide.

The Rochester-based chain says that the local stores will be the focus of a pilot rollout in October, a total of 21 Monro and 10 Mr. Tire service centers. Nationally, there are 498 Monro and 317 Mr. Tire locations.

As part of this initiative, the Monro Muffler Brake & Service stores will be renamed Monro Auto Service & Tire Centers to emphasize the expanding importance of tire sales to its business.

Last month, Monro announced that it is collaborating with Amazon to provide tire installation services at Monro’s retail tire and automotive centers throughout the Eastern U.S.

Monro is making the services available to customers who buy tires from Amazon and select a ship-to-store option in Monro’s stores in the greater Baltimore area. Following that initial launch, the collaboration will be expanded to provide this service to Amazon.com customers at Monro’s more than 1,170 retail locations across 27 states.
