Michael Stagles pleads guilty to criminally negligent homicide in 3-year old's death

Spectrum News

The father of a 3 year old girl who died from injuries she suffered after being beaten last year pled guilty on Friday to criminally negligent homicide.

33-year old Michael Stagles accepted a plea deal in connection with the death of Brook Stagles last November.  He admitted to failing to get his daughter medical attention.

Last week, Michael’s girlfriend Erica Bell was convicted on murder and manslaughter charges in Brook’s death.

Authorities say Brook was beaten while living with her father and Bell.

Michael Stagles is scheduled to be sentenced December 6th and under the plea deal he will get the maximum sentence of one and a third to four years in prison.
