MCC says it’s downtown Damon Campus will re-open on Tuesday after firefighters had to deal with a report of smoke in the Sibley Building on Monday morning.
An official with the contractor says that a construction superintendent detected a small amount of smoke in a bathroom on the seventh floor. That smoke was immediately extinguished and no one was injured.
Firefighters responded and staff in the building helped evacuate everyone as a precaution. It is believed the issue with the smoke was construction related.
The campus canceled classes after the incident on Monday, but again, they will reopen as usual on Tuesday.
