Monroe Community College students may be facing an increase of $300 per academic year, after a vote Monday by the college's board of trustees.
The board voted to increase the nutrition rate 8 percent for county residents in the 2016-17 school year, up to $4,100.
Out-of-state students will pay $8,200 annually, up from $7,600 the previous year.
College spokeswoman Cynthia Cooper Mapes says that while state aid is at the 2009 level, the cost of providing a quality college education has increased.
She says MCC is balancing that cost with the college's commitment to affordability by keeping tuition below the full-time students' average annual financial aid award.
The MCC budget still needs to be approved by Monroe County and SUNY.
