Mayor Warren remains hospitalized; hopes to be released over the weekend

Rochester Mayor Lovely Warren remains in the hospital, due to what a statement from City Hall says are the lingering effects of an allergic reaction.

Warren has been at Strong Memorial since Tuesday after suffering what her spokesman called a “significant allergic reaction.”

On Friday, Communications Director James Smith issued a statement which said that "While Mayor Warren has improved greatly, she continues to have lingering effects from her allergic reaction and her physicians are not ready to discharge her at this time. The Mayor is on her way to a full recovery and is hopeful she will be released over the weekend to finish recuperating at home with her family."

A check with Strong Memorial on Friday listed the mayor in satisfactory condition.

Smith says that Warren has continued working during her hospital stay and has remained in full contact with City Hall the last  few days, and  is looking forward to resuming her public schedule once she is cleared by her doctors.

He says that she is grateful for the community support she has received and thanks the many well-wishers who have contacted City Hall.

Warren was slated to take part in a Voice of the Voter debate this coming Monday along with Democratic Primary challengers James Sheppard and Rachel Barnhart, but that debate has now been postponed. The media involved in the event including WXXI, the D and C and 13 WHAM News are working to find an alternate date.
