Monroe County Democrats have announced that Maritza Buitrago is their candidate for family court judge. It is for a newly created seat.
Buitrago has spent her entire 15 year legal career in the public sector. She has worked in the county public defender's office, in the state Attorney General's office and also with the Legal Aid Society.
She is a native of Puerto Rico and is the first Latina to run for Family Court Judge.
