(Yahoo Sports & AP) NASCAR Sprint Cup veteran and experienced road racer Marcus Ambrose won Saturday's NASCAR Nationwide Series Zippo 200 at Watkins Glen International.
This marks Ambrose's fourth victory at Watkins Glen and his first Nationwide Series win since 2011.
After leading a total of 47 laps, Ambrose is now eyeing a weekend sweep with the Sprint Cup Series Cheez-It 355 coming up on Sunday at 1 p.m. ET.
After making contact earlier in the day with Ambrose, Kyle Busch came up short in second.
Joey Logano, polesitter Brad Keselowski and Matt Kenseth round out the top-five finishers.
Points leader and Sunoco Rookie of the Year candidate Chase Elliott finished sixth.
For the Sprint Cup race on Sunday, Jeff Gordon will have pole position. He turned a fast lap of 129.466 mph on Saturday to win the pole for the Cheez-It 355 at The Glen, edging road racing ace Marcos Ambrose and Hendrick Motorsports teammate Jimmie Johnson in the second and final round of knockout qualifying.
It was Gordon's first pole of the season, third at Watkins Glen, and 75th of his stellar career.
