Manslaughter Charge In Livingston County death

The Livingston County Sheriff’s Department has made an arrest in connection with the death of a Rochester man in the town of York last month.

21 year old Danielle Allen of Livonia  is facing a 2nd degree manslaughter charge in the stabbing death of  22 year old Marcus Postell on November 21st.

Authorities say on that evening, Allen placed a call to 911, calling them to the Fowlerville Road home.

Allen is also the daughter of State Police Major Richard Allen, and Livingston County Sheriff Tom Dougherty says because of that relationship, troopers are not involved  in the investigation.

“The reason is because of the relationship between Danielle and her father. We just made the decision to keep it outside the New York State Police and I think those reasons would be obvious to someone on the outside….the perception of it alone could be critiqued and dissected and so we made that decision and I’m proud of the investigation that our members have done. It’s been a long investigation with long hours, but like I said, we're far from done."

Allen was arraigned on Friday and ordered held on bail.
