Macedon Residents Approve Dissolving The Village

The residents of the Village of Macedon voted Tuesday to dissolve the village.  The unofficial results show the vote was 324 to 187.

It was the fourth time village residents were asked if they wanted to dissolve their government. Voters last year had voted to dissolve, but opponents still had the ability to challenge that decision until Tuesday’s referendum.

Also on Tuesday, voters backed William Murray as the new mayor, defeating incumbent Marie Cramer.

Murray backs dissolution, Cramer did not, so although Murray will take office April 4th,  he will just be in office for a year, since the village will dissolve in March of next year.
