LPGA Moving Wegmans Championship to Monroe in '14

Wegmans LPGA

The LPGA is returning next year to Rochester, but not to Locust Hill.

The tour is announcing the Wegmans LPGA Championship is moving to Monroe Golf Club in Pittsford, from August 14th to the 17th.

The past four years, the major was played in June at Locust Hill, which hosted an LPGA event for 37 consecutive years.

Tournament director Linda Hampton says she's excited this wonderful event will be in Rochester for another year as a major championship.
This will be the fifth year in a row for the championship here , and she says the tour loves the rich, prestigious golf courses in this community, and they're excited to play one of their majors on one of those courses.

Monroe Golf Club is ranked by Golf Week magazine as one of the top 100 courses in the country.

Hampton says she and her team have their priorities in place regarding next year's event at Monroe, and through their experience at Locust Hill they know what the community and fans expect, and hope to improve on that next year.
