Lotto prize worth $9.8 million sold in Webster

Someone in the Rochester area will be a lot richer soon. The New York State Lottery says there was one winning ticket for the lotto game on Wednesday, worth $9.8 million dollars.

The ticket was sold at the Hegedorns Market on Ridge Road in Webster. The six winning numbers were: 06-16-24-25-37-38

This is just the latest big money ticket sold at the store.

Operations manager at Hegedorn’s, Noreen Roesser says the store sold a winning lottery ticket worth $10 million dollars many years ago.

She says staff and customers are excited about this, and they're waiting for the newest lottery winner to step forward.

"Very excited.  We walked around the store and told everybody.  And a couple of people ran out to their cars to check their tickets. It's exciting and everybody's very upbeat about it," she said.

There’s no word yet on who purchased the ticket.  The value of the prize is also affected by whatever taxes are paid as well as whether the ticket buyer chose a lump sum payment or wanted the prize paid out in annual installments
