Longtime local TV news anchor Janet Lomax is retiring.   The News 10NBC anchor has been on the anchor desk in Rochester for 36 years.

According to WHEC-TV’s website, Lomax said that  “I’ve been blessed to be a part of this community and this station.  I’ve been touched by the incredible people here and I feel honored to have had the opportunity to tell their stories.  After 40 years in broadcasting, it’s time. I’m so excited to see what God has in store for me next.”

“She exemplifies the true essence of a journalist but more so, her class, generosity, and professionalism have been an inspiration to us all,” said WHEC-TV Vice President and General Manager, Derek Dalton.  Adding, “Janet has been the face of our station and such a strong voice for our entire community, she will be sorely missed!”

Jane Lomax’s final appearance on the anchor desk will be at the end of December.
