The CEO of Windstream Corporation says he's proud to be a part of the renovations underway at the the David Gantt Community Center.
Jeffery Gardner joined Rochester's mayor on a tour of the facility on Tuesday, and the changes that are being made. Some of those modifications include a fitness center, new kitchen as well as revamping program spaces.
Windstream donated $10-thousand for a new music studio and computer room.
Gardner says the modifications will help change the lives of children living in that neighborhood...
"We wanted to make a difference in the community," Gardner said. "That was important to us. we worked with the city. and this project, and we're just donating for the technology and the music part of it seemed like a great, great use of those funds."
The nearly $3 million project also includes funding from the state Dormitory Authority, Daisy Marquis Jones Foundation, and city capital funds.
Renovations to the center are expected to be complete by late October.
