"Liza's Letter" Series of Good News Stories

Local almost-ten-year-old Liza recently sent a letter to WXXI News asking for a whole day of “happy news” and offering to round up some of her friends to listen.

That letter is inspiring WXXI News to present a series of stories that focus on the positive in local health, business, education, arts, sports, and more.

The week long radio series named after its author, Liza’s Letter,  begins Monday, December 26th, airing during Morning Edition (5 a.m. to 9 a.m.) on WXXI-AM 1370.  Stories and pictures from Liza’s Letter can also be found online at WXXINews.org. You can see a preview in the video box below.

Also that week of December 26th NPR News is presenting a national series called A Good Year that explores the “glass half full.”

Listeners will find out why 2011 was a good year for sweet potatoes, Volkswagen, tennis star Novak Djokovic, and many other people, places, and things. A Good Year airs during Morning Edition on WXXI-AM 1370.
