LISTEN: Host of new NPR talk show "1A", Joshua Johnson

WAMU-FM

As you no doubt know by now, longtime NPR talk show host Diane Rehm retired last week after 37 years.

Starting at 10 a.m. this coming Monday, January 2, WXXI AM 1370 will be airing a new talk show. Like its predecessor, The Diane Rehm Show, 1A will also broadcast from the studios of WAMU in Washington, D.C.

He comes to the show with a strong background in Public Radio.

Johnson was morning newscaster at San Francisco's KQED-FM for six years (2010-16). He stepped down in February to do the "Truth Be Told" podcast for KQED and Public Radio International (PRI).

Beth Adams joined WXXI as host of Morning Edition in 2012 after a more than two-decade radio career. She was the longtime host of the WHAM Morning News in Rochester. Her career also took her from radio stations in Elmira, New York, to Miami, Florida.
