Lineup for Jazz Fest 16 announced

The lineup has been announced for this summer's 16th annual Xerox Rochester International Jazz Festival.

It features over 15 hundred artists from around the world in over 325 shows at 19 venues.

Producer John Nugent says one new wrinkle this year is personalized Club Passes, complete with a patron's name and photo.

"We're going to require everyone to do that now because, it's for security, in case you lose it. We've had a lot of people that forget their pass or lose it.  We can issue another one because we have it in the system with their photo on it," he said.

Festival Producer and Executive Director Marc Iacona says there are good reasons that this festival continues to deliver year after year.

"The community, number one, I think it's the team that we have and the support that we have.  It takes a lot off the whole team's shoulders when you know that you have the support that's there, and you can go ahead and program ahead of time," he said.

Representatives from Xerox, which split into two companies last year, say the company remains committed to the event.

The 16th annual Xerox Rochester International Jazz Festival runs June 23rd to July 1st.

While WXXI will not be recording full concerts from the Jazz Festival this year, programs from last year's festival will be broadcast on WXXI TV on Saturdays at 4:00 pm beginning May 13th.

Producer John Nugent says “The Hooligans” will close out this year’s festival:
