License Plate Thefts Reported In Two Towns

Monroe County Clerk Cheryl Dinolfo says that the Mobile DMV unit located in Chili Town Hall will be open early on Tuesday morning to offer services to residents in Gates and Chili who had license plates stolen over the weekend.

Police are investigating a number of thefts of license plates from vehicles in the towns of Chili and Gates.   Gates Police got reports about license plates being stolen from about 75 vehicles. About 16 vehicles had plates stolen in Chili.

The county's Chili mobile DMV unit will be open Tuesday from 8:30 a.m. until 3:30 p.m.  In order to replace stolen plates, residents need to bring in a police report, fill out a DMV form and have a valid driver's license. There is no fee to replace the stolen plates when a police report is submitted.
