Letchworth State Park has again been named the #1 Best Attraction in New York State.
That’s according to a USA Today10Best Readers’ Choice survey. The nominees are chosen by a panel of experts and editors from the newspaper.
Letchworth was also voted the #1 State park in the country in a 2015 USA Today poll.
NY State Parks officials say that Letchworth, known as the “Grand Canyon of the East,’ saw over 750,000 visitors last year and is on track to exceed that number this year.
“It’s somewhat humbling to know that this great park means so much to so many people. We are thankful to everyone who sees Letchworth as special and we continue to be honored by these testimonies,” said General Park Manager Roland Beck.
“We are tremendously excited that Letchworth State Park has been recognized as the number one attraction in all of New York State,” said Wyoming County Chamber & Tourism President and CEO Scott Gardner. “We are so proud to have this natural wonder and tourism destination right in our backyard. This designation once again affirms the value of Letchworth and its attraction to the thousands of visitors it welcomes each year.”
