Rochester-based LiDestri Food and Beverage has announced some management changes.
President and CEO Giovanni LiDestri says he is "delighted" to announce that effective July 23rd, he will transfer responsibilities for day-to-day company operations to two of his children. Stefani and John C. LiDestri will serve as co-presidents and their father will continue on as CEO for the foreseeable future.
“As we approach the 42nd year of our company and I celebrate my 70th birthday in July, I am very grateful the company I have been privileged to help build will remain not only in the hands of family but in the hands of two very experienced professionals who share the passion, values and vision that has guided our company since its inception,” Giovanni LiDestri said in a statement.
Following the transition, Stefani will assume responsibility for Marketing, Human Resources, Information Technology and Research & Development; John will oversee Supply Chain and Sales; and Giovanni will continue to lead Operations and Finance.
In the company's press release, Giovanni LiDestri said that, "As I turn over the day to day operations of the company, for me, my hope and aspiration is for all LiDestri stakeholders to benefit as we enter our new chapter. Yes, I acknowledge that, over the last 40 years I may have done a fair job helping to bring the company to its present level, but I have good reason to believe that John and Stefani and the entire LiDestri team will take the company to a brighter, bigger and better future. You can bet on it. "
LiDestri is a private label and contract manufacturer of food, beverages and spirits and employs hundreds of people at five manufacturing facilities in the Rochester area, California, Pennsylvania and New Jersey.
The company's products have included Francesco Rinaldi pasta sauces and Newman's Own brand, and LiDestri has been working on a multimillion dollar venture with a company called Love Beets USA.
