The U.S. Food and Drug Administration reports Kraft has initiated a voluntary, national recall of dairy products manufactured in Steuben County, because they spoiled too soon. A statement from Kraft indicates these are natural cheese products with no preservatives.

Varieties of Kraft and Polly-O string cheese and string cheese twists are affected. The affected products have code dates from October 25, 2013 through February 11, 2014.  The company shipped 735,000 cases to stores around the country.

Kraft advises that you don't eat the cheese. Return it to where it was purchased for an exchange or refund.

In a statement on its website, Kraft promises an investigation into what went wrong at its plant in Campbell, NY.

The Kraft consumer information number is open 9 am to 6 pm at (800) 816-9432.
