Rochester, NY – Hundreds of Kodak retirees attended meetings Tuesday designed to help them prepare for the possible loss of their health benefits.
Kodak has NOT indicated it will stop providing retiree health benefits. But the company's shaky financial situation has many retirees worried that will soon happen.
The president of the Eastman Kodak Retirees Association, Bob Volpe, told the crowd there is nothing retirees can do except prepare for the worst, "Today you might hear some bad news, that if things change at Kodak, we could be in a different financial place individually as a result of that."
The association invited representatives from Excellus and M-V-P to explain alternative health care plans and how much retirees would have to pay for them. Many of those in attendance would not qualify for Medicare.
