Kodak Alaris is moving to Gates

Kodak Alaris is moving. But it’s not going very far.

The company, which is involved in photo kiosks, various photographic products and software solutions, has been located in the Eastman Business Park, but has announced it is moving to the Rochester Technology Park in Gates.

The company says the 250,000 square foot space will serve as the company’s U.S. headquarters and will house its CEO, as well as be the base for three of its four business groups.

The move will mean several hundred jobs are coming to the Town of Gates, and Supervisor Mark Assini is obviously happy about that.

“This is a great opportunity to continue the dynamic in the Elmgrove corridor; the density of employees and the uses of restaurants , shops and stores is just really revitalizing that whole Elmgrove corridor.”

Assini says it's good to see the Tech Park getting new life in recent years.

“When Kodak left, it (the Tech Park) was devastated, it was almost completely empty, and now we’re reaching practical capacity with the additional of Kodak Alaris, it is just fabulous for that whole facility and it’s exciting being an ex-Kodaker seeing that tech park come back to life," Assini told WXXI News.

The move will be finalized during the third quarter of next year. Kodak Alaris was spun off  from Kodak several years ago.

Its parent company and global headquarters are located in the U-K.
