Investigation Into Damage At The Strong Museum's Butterfly Garden Windows

TWC News

There’s an investigation going on to try and determine how several windows at the Strong Museum’s butterfly garden got damaged.

Officials at the museum and Rochester police are trying to find out who or what damaged eight exterior windows at the Butterfly Garden.

Museum staff discovered the damage Monday morning.

A museum spokesperson says the exhibit has both exterior and interior windows.

None of the interior windows were damaged and the exhibit remains open and fully operational.

Rochester Police released a statement saying at this time they cannot confirm whether or not a crime occurred.

They did say that similar damage has occurred in the past as a result of high winds, and they note there were thunderstorms in the area this past weekend.  They are still investigating.

The Strong has the only year-round indoor butterfly garden in Upstate New York, featuring about a thousand tropical and native  butterflies
