Injured RPD officer released from the hospital

Rochester Police Dept patch

Jeremy Nash, the Rochester Police officer who was shot and wounded Saturday night, has now been released from the hospital.

Chief Michael Ciminelli said that, “On behalf of the entire Rochester Police Department, I would like to thank everyone for all of their support, prayers, and kind words during this difficult time.  We are also very grateful to the medical staff at Rochester General Hospital for the medical care and support they provided.”

RPD officials say that Nash has a long road of recovery ahead of him. After the incident on North Street late Saturday night, Ciminelli said that Nash was shot “near the face,” but was not more specific about the injury.

The investigation is ongoing, but there’s no word yet of any suspects.
