"I Try to Invent a Moment the Audience Can't Look Away From," says STREB Founder

Tom Caravaglia

A Rochester native and world renowned choreographer has returned home for opening weekend of the First Niagara Rochester Fringe Festival.

Elizabeth Streb is founder of the STREB EXTREME ACTION COMPANY. Her performers combine dance and athletics in a series of daring feats.

"We have a mantra - kind of a battle cry, excuse the expression, 'higher, stronger, harder, faster.' And that's what we try to do with every second,” she said. “The pieces are short; there are six of them, and they fly and the beautiful thing is, then they crash."

STREB EXTREME ACTION COMPANY is performing four free shows at Parcel 5. There is one show tonight at 8:00 and three shows Saturday at 5:00 p.m., 7:30 p.m. and 10:00 p.m.
