Housing expo hopes to help home hunters find their ideal neighborhood

The Second Annual Celebrate City Living Housing Expo will take place at City Hall this weekend.

The event is a one-stop shop to help people find the Rochestser neighborhood that's right for them.

Home hunters will be able to meet with representatives from each neighborhood to find a place that suits their needs.

Realtors and lenders as well as schools and non-profit agencies who specialize in serving city customers will also be available.

City Council Vice President Dana Miller said Rochester is a very neighborhood focused city.

"From Charlotte in the north to the 19th Ward in the south. From Maplewood on the west to Browncroft in the east. We know that people tend to like the neighborhoods they live in, settle there, get familiar with the goods and services and really want to stay."

He said the event is open to anyone looking to call Rochester home, whether that be through buying or renting a house.

The Expo is an extension of the Celebrate City Living program which encourages city residency for consumers at every stage of the housing search.

The Celebrate City Living Housing Expo will run Saturday April 1st from 10am to 2pm. The Landmark Society of Western New York will also be hosting tours of city neighborhoods.
