High Wind Warning and Advisory canceled

***UPDATE: As of 3pm Sunday, the National Weather Service has canceled the High Wind Warning and Wind Advisory for our region ***

=================

It will be a very windy day throughout our region on Sunday with the strong wind gusts happening from Monroe County to the west.

There is a High Wind Warningfrom 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. for Monroe, Genesee, Orleans and Wyoming Counties. Winds from the southwest will be at 25 to 35mph with gusts up to 60mph possible

There is a Wind Advisory during that same period for counties including Livingston, Ontario and Wayne, with gusts up to 50mph.

The National Weather Service notes that the wind could cause some damage to property and power lines, with shallow rooted trees being more susceptible to damage because of the recent thaw and saturated soil.

The high winds could also be more hazardous for high profile vehicles.

It will be mild with some rain on Sunday, and a high in the mid 50s.

Monday will be sunny with a high in the mid to upper 40s
