High Falls Film Festival Moves Back To October

The High Falls Film Festival is moving back to the fall. That's a return to its original schedule. The festival was held in the fall for ten years. It was announced Friday that next year's festival will be held for four days, October 23 - 26. The festival will also present a mini-fest during the previously announced time frame on April 25 and 26.

The Board Chair of the festival, Malcolm Spaull says that having the fall festival dates will allow them to select from premier films from several important Northeast U.S. and Canadian festivals that are held in August and September. The festival is also looking for a new executive director to replace Mary Howard who made a career change.

Venues for the festival in 2014 include The Little Theatre and the Dryden Theatre at the Eastman House.

The festival celebrates the work of female filmmakers and it was founded in 2001.
