Health Writer Says Chronic Pain is the Biggest U.S. Health Problem

A nationally syndicated medical journalist will be speaking at the University of Rochester Medical Center Saturday about what she calls the the country's biggest health problem-chronic pain.

Judy Foreman, whose health column has appeared in the Boston Globe, Los Angeles Times and Dallas Morning News, is the author of  A Nation in Pain.

Foreman cites a 2011 report from the Institute of Medicine, showing that 100 million American adults, more than 40 percent of the adult population in 2010, live with chronic pain.
