Headed to the Adirondacks? Bundle up even more

(AP) - Travelers and outdoor enthusiasts are being warned of extremely cold temperatures expected in the Adirondack Mountains through the holiday weekend.

The National Weather Service has issued a wind-chill advisory for most of the Adirondacks for Wednesday, with expected wind chills of minus-15 to minus-25 below zero.

Forecasters say even more dangerous conditions likely will develop Wednesday night and into Thursday.

High temperatures through the weekend are forecast to be in single digits above and below zero, while lows are predicted to reach 20 below zero or colder.

At the summit of Mount Marcy on Wednesday, the weather service predicts a low temperature of minus-13. Coupled with 32-mile-per-hour winds, it will feel like 43 below zero atop the state's highest mountain.
