Harris Corp. Receives Contract Potentially Worth Up To $1.7 Billion

Harris Corporation

Harris Corporation has been awarded a big contract by the U.S. Defense Department.

Potentially, the contract could reach as high as $1.7 billion over five years.

Senator Charles Schumer says the contract calls for Harris to manufacture military radios for U.S. allies and NATO forces in Afghanistan.

Schumer says the majority of the work will be done in Rochester.  There was no immediate word on whether the contract will have any impact on local employment staffing at Harris.
