Greentopia Comes to High Falls

greentopiafest.com

The High Falls district is the setting this weekend for the annual Greentopia Fall Festival.

It starts Friday night with a fashion show and photography exhibit. Then, on Saturday, huge projectors will be used to display images on the gorge walls.  Greentopia co-founder Michael Philipson says that includes your photos.

"So you'll see videos, Rochester love notes- we'll do a presentation of those. And then people can send their selfies,” Philipson said. “You can tweet them to @GreentopiaFest. We'll make a selection of your best selfies, so make 'em good, and then come back at night and see yourself possibly projected onto the gorge walls."

On Saturday, you can tour the booths featuring "green" goods, services and foods.  And a Tessla will be on display at an alternative-fuel auto show.

Philipson says one of the main goals of the event is to get more people to visit High Falls. "We really have a world class site here. It's a 96-foot high waterfall inside a canyon, inside a city. Most cities would really give their right arm for something like this. We really want the citizens to come down and see what's possible here, really use their imaginations."
