Mayor Lovely Warren will be on hand tonight as a local non-profit that supports cancer patients unveils some recent renovations.
Gilda's Club of Rochester has made $250,000 in upgrades to its Alexander Street building.
"We completely gutted certain areas of the building; the kitchen and our community rooms. The rest rooms we rebuilt from scratch,” said Executive Director Bob Russell. “We were able to move some walls around for some of our program rooms so we could readjust the size of those."
Russell says they also expanded the kitchen space to accommodate larger groups for healthy cooking classes.
Funding for the project came from the New York State Dormitory Authority. A wellness room will be dedicated to Senator Joe Robach, who helped to secure the grant.
