Geva Theatre Center announces 2018-19 season

Geva Theatre Center has announced its 2018-19 season.  It includes 11 major productions and 2 festivals.

ESL Federal Credit Union and Rochester Regional Health are co-sponsors and Dawn Lipson will serve as honorary season producer.

Artistic Director Mark Cuddy says the stories for the new season will include a wide range of characters, as well as writers, directors, actors and designers. Geva officials say they are committed to serving diverse communities, and more than half of the productions are written and/or directed by women. Five plays in the new season are written by playwrights of color and four plays will have people of color as directors.

Cuddy says that a third of the subscription shows will be world premieres.

The 2018-19 season includes:

Hair – September 4 – October 7, 2018

Fortune – October4 – October 21, 2018

Thurgood – October 16 – November 18, 2018

Hard Cell – January 8 – February 3, 2019

The Magician’s Daughter – January 24 – Feb 10, 2019

The Humans – Feb. 19 – March 17, 2019

Native Gardens – March 26 – April 21, 2019

The Royale – April 11- April 28, 2019

Revival: The Resurrection of Son House – May 1 – June 2, 2019
