Getinge To Cut 80 Jobs In Henrietta

There are changes ahead for the Getinge Group operation in Henrietta. 80 jobs there will be cut by the end of the year, as the manufacturing work that is done there is being transferred to Getinge facilities in Poland.

The local Getinge operation has been involved in the manufacture of  sterilization equipment, such as autoclaves.

The CEO of the Infection Control  business for the  Swedish-based company, Joacim Lindoff, says the transfer of operations is necessary to remain competitive by becoming more efficient,  and also increase the level of sourcing and partnership with Eastern European countries.

Sales and service operations will remain at the Getinge facility in Henrietta. The manufacturing will be transferred to Poland by the end of this year.
