This year's recipient of the George Eastman Award is actor Michael Keaton.

The award goes to those who have made a distinguished contribution to the art of film.

Keaton has been in over 40 films, from "Night Shift," to "Mr. Mom," and "Beetlejuice" to the Academy Award winng films "Birdland" in and last year's "Spotlight."

Keaton, before a tour of the Museum, told reporters that the fact that he has made any contribution is still amazing to him.

"It feels really good, honestly. It feels really good to know that you really made a contribution to this art form," he said.

Keaton has a Rochester connection.

His older brother and his family live in Pittsford, and have been long time residents here.

Keaton jokes they share quite a resemblance.

"So you might recognize someone that looks like me. Don't make eye contact. Really, seriously, avoid them. No avoid them, really.  They'll just talk your leg off," he said.

Keaton said he was excited to be here to tour the George Eastman Museum, calling it the "epicenter of film preservation."

Michael Keaton's real name is Michael Douglas, but he changed it because there was a Mike Douglas and Michael Douglas already working in show business at the time.

Keaton says he actually considered Michael Jackson at one point, but as a fan of Diane and Buster, he settled on "Keaton."

Keaton will receive the George Eastman award at a sold-out Dryden Theatre tonight.

He joins other film legends like Charlie Chaplin, Buster Keaton, James Stewart and last year's winner, Michael Douglas,  as other winners of the award.

Keaton says the George Eastman Museum is the epicenter for film preservation, and it took him a long time to realize just how important film preservation is:
