Genesee Brewery Lights Up Beer Keg Christmas Tree

The Genesee Brewery held a special kind of Christmas tree lighting outside its Brew House on Cataract Street Thursday night. The “tree” is made up of 300 empty stainless steel kegs, trimmed with lights and topped by a rotating Genesee sign.

The two-story keg tree was used to also unveil Genesee’s new holiday Tap It Forward social investment beer, which is a salted caramel chocolate porter. A portion of the proceeds of the beer sales will be donated to the GardenAerial FlourGarden project, which is an urban garden at Brown’s Race.

The holiday beer, which involved collaboration with local shop Hedonist Artisan Chocolates, is available for a limited time on tap at the Genesee Brew House. Wright Distributing is also distributing the beer to craft beer bars throughout Rochester.
