Gates Police reach out to help the family of the mother & daughter found shot to death in Rochester

Gates Police are among those mourning the deaths of a mother and daughter in Rochester who were found shot to death in a Wellington Avenue home in the city on Friday morning.

The victims are identified as 35 year old Christie Brooks and her daughter, 18 year old Victoria Brooks, who was home from college for the holiday weekend.

There’s no word yet of any suspects.

Police say that Victoria Brooks worked at a Dunkin’ Donuts store on Buffalo Rd. in Gates and was known to many of the officers and others in the Gates Community.

She has 7 other younger brothers and sisters.

Gates Police - in conjunction with the Gates Chili Community Connections - is accepting donations to help with funeral expenses and to provide for the remaining siblings.

Checks may be made to the Gates Chili Community Connections and sent to the Gates Police at 1605 Buffalo Rd. Rochester New York 14624 or left at the Dunkin Donuts Store.
