Gas prices continue to fall. In the Rochester area, the AAA says they are now averaging  $3.49  a gallon. That is down 13 cents over the last month, and 17 cents a gallon lower than a year ago. That's the lowest they've been since early 2012.

AAA spokesman Steve Pacer says part of the drop is due to seasonal factors.

“This is the time of year where we see decreased demand, we see that there’s low crude oil prices, also the winter blend of gasoline, it’s a little bit cheaper to produce, but it’s been two and a half years since we’ve seen this kind of price, so I think people should be happy.”

Pacer says despite reports of tensions in overseas markets, that really hasn’t translated into an increase in crude oil prices so far.

Pacer says it is likely  that barring any unforeseen major events, gas prices may decline a little more and then level off.
