Frontier Adding 350 Jobs In Henrietta

Frontier Communications is adding more jobs at its facility on Jefferson Road in Henrietta.

Frontier officials tell us they plan to add 350 jobs at its Frontier Commons call center on Jefferson Road. The news came out of a COMIDA meeting, where the company applied for a sales tax exemption on the $4.5 million expansion project.

The requirement for the tax break is for Frontier to add the jobs over the next three years, but a Frontier spokesperson says it is likely a lot of those jobs will be added over the next year.

The jobs involve customer support for a number of products. An official says that the company’s recent acquisition of telephone landlines in Florida, California and Texas led to the need for the additional jobs.

Officials say they had also looked at other sites around the country for the expansion, but Rochester’s well-educated work force as well as tax incentives helped Frontier decide to expand in Henrietta.
