FREDONIA, N.Y. (AP)  Olympic pole vault champion Jenn Suhr is being honored with a monument at her western New York alma mater.

The Observer of Dunkirk reports that the Fredonia Board of Education recently accepted the donation of the stone monument from the Fredonia Olympic Celebration Committee.

The administration has yet to decide where it will go.

Suhr won gold at the 2012 London Olympics and plans to defend her title at the Rio Summer Games in 2016.

She lives in Churchville.
