Former Texas Governor Rick Perry has been tapped to be the guest speaker at the upcoming Monroe County Republican Committee Luncheon.
Perry, a former presidential candidate, was Texas Governor from 2000 to 2015. He has indicated he may run again in 2016, despite his indictment on abuse of power charges. Perry has said he is confident he will be able to successfully fight those charges.
Monroe County GOP Chairman Bill Reilich says Texas is experiencing an economic boom, and he hopes people attending the luncheon will be able to hear more about Perry's accomplishments.
The luncheon will be held on March 2 at the Hyatt Hotel in downtown Rochester.
