Foodlink Receives $30,000 for Learning Kitchen

Thursday the First Niagara Foundation announced a $30,000 to help fund Foodlink’s mission to build a better community.

The funding will go directly towards Foodlink’s efforts to train young chefs, teach about nutrition and prepare more food for those who need it.

Suzanne Nasipak Chapman, First Niagara Rochester’s Market Executive, spoke to WXXI about why funding for Foodlink is important. She says that one of the best ways to keep Americans healthy is by teaching them what to eat.

“We still have 1 in 6 Americans who really are, you know, challenged to put food on the table. Additionally, as we try to address our healthcare situation in this country, a lot of it has to do with eating right. And Fooklink does a fabulous job with truly trying to teach about nutrition, at the same time that it’s giving out food,” said Nasipak Chapman.
