Five Star Bank To Open In Rochester

The first Costco in our area is being built at what's called CityGate at East Henrietta and Westfall Roads on the south side of Rochester. On Tuesday, developer Anthony Costello announced one more business going in next year.

"I can't tell you how happy I am that Five Star Bank has chosen to join us in this vibrant community called CityGate."

The new branch is the first in the city of Rochester for Five Star Bank. Marty Birmingham, the president and CEO of Five Star Bank suggests you could even unwind at the bank after your trip to Costco.  "You can open an account, apply for a home equity or small business loan, and receive a new debit card - all from the same Five Star Bank associate. You'll see on-site tech support, and our first-ever refreshment lounge."

Birmingham promises no teller lines and no barriers between you and his employees.

Monroe County Executive Maggie Brooks says the bank adds one of those amenities that people are going to be looking for. “This bank addition to CityGate will take this from project to a community."

"It's great, when, in the middle of the winter - the beginning of the winter, we are still outside, doing ribbon-cuttings and making sure that we are rebuilding our city," said Rochester Mayor Lovely Warren.

"When you have a vision, and you execute that vision well, and get other peoples to believe in that vision, then you can do great things. And that's exactly what Mr. Costello has done by developing this Costco site and the CityGate site."

Five Star also promises community space for financial literacy classes, homebuyers programs and even child safety seminars.

The company has 50 branches in New York State.
