Officials with the Wilmorite Corporation have revealed the name of one of the major retailers that will be coming to Marketplace Mall as part of the renovations going on there.
It is Field & Stream. The store specializes in outdoor merchandise, and the store is a relatively recent concept, having been developed by Dick's Sporting Goods. The former DSW and Furniture Fair building at Marketplace will be demolished to make way for the new freestanding 55,000 square foot building, which is expected to open this fall.
The manager at Marketplace, Mike Wilmot tells WXXI News that even with Dick's Sporting Goods being located nearby, he feels the new store will still attract a number of shoppers from around the region who may not have otherwise come to Marketplace.
The redevelopment at the mall will also include several other new retailers and restaurants.
