FBI Special Agent Adam Cohen announces a $20k reward for information in the Tammy Jo Alexander murder case.

The FBI is offering a $20,000 for information in the Tammy Jo Alexander murder case.

The 16-year-old was found shot to death in a cornfield in Caledonia in 1979, and was identified as Florida native Tammy Jo Alexander in January of 2015.

Since then the FBI and the Livingston County Sheriff's Office have been working together to put together a timeline of the last few months of the teenager's life. FBI Special Agent Adam Cohen announced the award for information leading to the arrest and conviction of Alexander's murderer.

"We won't stop," he said in a press conference at the Livingston County Sheriff's Office. "We'll come here over and over again, asking that you help us keep Tammy Jo's memory alive and relevant."

Anyone with information is encouraged to contact either agency either through the FBI's website or the Sheriff's Office's tip line: 1-844-843-5276.

Law enforcement is testing DNA from three male persons of interest against a possible sample from the girl's clothing. Investigator Brad Schneider says they are still awaiting the results of that analysis.

The investigation into Alexander's murder is the subject of a podcast co-produced by WXXI News and the Democrat and Chronicle called Finding Tammy Jo.
